Becky Pearson is the agency’s chief executive. Becky has been shortlisted because since joining Community Foster Care two years ago she has doubled the size of the agency, secured a block purchase contract and opened a second branch in Cumbria.
When Becky arrived the company lacked direction and the numbers of children placed had reduced significantly. Together with seven other charities, social enterprises and co-operatives all working as Independent Fostering Agencies set up in 2007 the Fostering Through Social Enterprise group which meets four times a year and has a lobbying function aimed to raise the profile of charitable IFAs.
