The Guardian’s art critic Laura Cumming discovers how the greatest names in western art transformed themselves into their own masterpieces, leading us through five centuries of self-portraits including Durer, Rembrandt, Van Gogh and Warhol.

Ego: The Strange and Wonderful World of Self-Portraits argues that self-portraits are a unique art form, always revealing the truth of how artists saw and presented themselves to the world. BDH treated these masterpieces with a delicate touch, and created an animated title suggesting both the process of creation and the reflection of the artist’s psyche.
