BDH Immersive was commissioned to create a variety of multi-sensory immersive films to play on one of Japan’s largest screens. Spanning an incredible forty metres by eight metres high, the Main Theatre screen is uniquely curved to surround the audience. A sophisticated twenty two point sound system, scent technology, wind, fog, strobe lighting and vibrations were combined to create the ultimate nature film experience.

Commissioned by the games developer Sega and Produced by BBC Earth Productions,

“We couldn’t have made such elegant seamless immersive films without the craft skills at BDH.” Neil Nightingale, Creative Director BBC Earth.

Four years in the making, the project started with BDH Creative developing two pilot films, cementing the blueprint and template for ORBI’s cinematic spectacle.

Winner of a Special Recognition Award at the 2014 Science Media Awards, Boston. Nominated for Outstanding Innovation at Wildscreen Awards.
